What is Inclusive Education?

Rita Pierson

American Educator

“Every Child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possible be. ”

Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini Inclusive Education Programme (SSSVV-IEP) –
Objectives

  • Engage, Empower and Enthuse

all the stakeholders within the education system to provide equitable education to all children, irrespective of their disabilities.

  • Digitally deliver the content

to the teacher based on the UDL approach and consider the different learning styles and multiple intelligences. Make CWSN’s participate in school meaningfully.

  • Help children with special needs

Have children with special needs become functionally independent to the extent of their abilities.

  • Assist & Empower Children with Special Needs (CWSN)

to become contributing members of the society. Removing ‘dis’ from ‘disability’.

  • To help neurotypical children understand

that people may look different yet can be their friends. Help instill in CWSN a sense of belonging and being valued.

  • Extend the Inclusion

beyond the boundaries of the school. Endeavour to make public facilities ‘inclusive’ and sensitive to the needs of “persons with varying abilities”.
